Riga 2014

RIGA 2014

Retrospective, before the year of European Capital of Culture (ECOC), Riga had already benefits from a strong creative scene of young project makers, entrepreneurs and artists.
Most of the ECOC-projects were devoted to people and neighbourhoods that participate in the positive sense of creation of national identity in this young country with its turbulent history.

This is also what the project demanded: To promote the unexpected potential of residents and to place it in the foreground.
Even today, the city holds what it promises and makes itself popular for inhabitants and visitors: Creative centres, interesting exhibitions and a humming alternative cultural scene.
