CaP.CULT

CaP.CULT is Carina Kurta and Pia Leydolt-Fuchs - our guiding principle: culture as a key factor in long-term urban and regional development.

Culture and cultural events are important for a city's attractiveness and quality of life. However, culture also includes architecture and cultural heritage, and is therefore central to urban tourism. At the same time, the contemporary development of cultural and creative industries often plays an important role in the dynamics and economic direction of a city or even an entire region.

For us, culture functions as the hub of society, bringing people together, motivating them to participate and acting as an important factor in intercultural dialogue, social cohesion and innovation.

As an organisation working between the European Capitals of Culture, architecture and urban development, we explore cities that are often in a process of change, linked to culture.

CaP.CULT's offer is aimed at urban planners, architects, cultural, political and economic delegations, universities and schools, (potential) candidate cities applying for the title of the 'European Capital of Culture' and individuals.

Our offer includes conferences, tailor-made study trips, consultancy, presentations for cities, individual visits and meetings with local players on architecture, urban development and the European Capital of Culture. Our aim is to help you understand a cultural and urban development project as a whole, to ask the right questions, to question habits, to discover new things, to develop ideas, to learn from others and to pass on our knowledge and experience!

Pia Leydolt-Fuchs & Carina Kurta

Mediation for European Capitals of Culture, architecture and urban development - that means discovery of various European cultural centres, accompanied and organised by experts.

We, Pia Leydolt-Fuchs and Carina Kurta, both former team member in several European Capital of Culture-Organisations (Linz09 and Istanbul 2010), have experienced Capitals of Culture first-hand since 2013:
We are providing in-depth and exciting insights into the successful project of the European Union, the local architectural and culture scene as well as urban development of European cities.

Acting as the (missing) link between the official ECOC-organisation and visitors, we are offering the discovery of cities by means of individual circuits, personally assisted cultural programmes (for one or several days – off the beaten track), workshops, lectures and presentations and meetings with local culture project managers, stakeholders and city planners!

Our aim is to help navigate through the cultural and architectural diversity of European Capitals of Culture and their regions. We act as personal attendance and contact person for private individuals, groups, school and student excursions as well as for (potential) Capital of Culture candidate cities and delegations of economic, political and cultural sectors.
